Legal documents concerning a business partnership between Zebulun Stirk and Mary Vickers, 1814-1819

File of two documents relating to a dissolution of a machine-building partnership between Zebulun Stirk and Mary Vickers:

1.    Draft of a claim made by Mary Vickers against Zebulun Stirk, machine maker, 1814 for profits owing to her for her share in the business. Includes a history of the partnership agreement made between Vickers and Stirk from 1811 to 1814. A transcript of the document is included, compiled by Dr Benjamin Randall Vickers (1885-1959) in 1952.

2.    Warrant of Attorney made between Zebulun Stirk and Mary Vickers for the transfer of £800 from Stirk to Vickers, signed by both parties and sealed in the presence of William Ward, attorney for the defendant in custody. The document contains a payment schedule, and confirmation from Mary Vickers that she had received payments from Stirk in March 1819, July 1819 and December 1819.
