TAKEDOWN POLICY

Take down / Request to remove policy

The Mary Randall Vickers Archive acts in good faith when publishing material on its website. Prior to uploading images, we check the copyright status of material and demonstrate due diligence in contacting rights-holders for permission to make the material available.

Material may be taken down temporarily on receipt of a written request (to be sent to info@mrvarchive.com). Normally we will temporarily remove the item from publication until we have had time to evaluate the request for permanent removal.

The Mary Randall Vickers Archive will approve continued withdrawal of the material only if at least one of the following criteria is met:

  • Making the material available online is an infringement of copyright
  • The material is personal information about someone who is still alive and where continued online access would be unlawful or unfair to them under data protection legislation
  • The material is defamatory or obscene
  • The material was released in error and removal is required to rectify a mistake

Please send any requests to take down material to info@mrvarchive.com, giving your name and contact details, specifying the item(s) you wish to be taken down and explaining why you are making this request. This must include full details of the material concerned, including the web URL or reference number. If the request relates to copyright, the applicant should provide proof they are the rights holder, successor or a representative.
